Archive for December, 2007

A few of you have asked me how to access the recordings on this blog. Here’s a few easy instructions:

All the audio files are listed under “LISTEN TO.” If you take your mouse and run it over one of the files, it will reveal an underline. This means there is a link to another page. Chick it with your mouse and it will automatically bring you to the audio file. Once it’s uploaded (it may take several seconds) it should automatically begin playing. Of course, you’ll need to have the volume on your computer turned up. =)

If you have difficulties, just send me a comment and I’ll check it out for you!

O happy day!

Joyous New Year

As you probably noticed, I’ve been taking a Christmas vacation. It’s been good to rest and unplug my mind for awhile. I’m currently working on our New Year’s Eve message and will upload it tomorrow or Friday.

One of my favorite ways of bringing in the New Year is to have communion with family and friends, or alone with Jesus. It’s so good to look back over the year and consider all the ways where we’ve seen the hand of God. How many times did He answer your prayers? How many times did He relieve you of pain and suffering? How many thrilling moments did He give you? What did you learn about His character last year? It’s stunning when we stop and consider what we gained in the 365 days of 2007.

I pray you have a blessed and safe New Year’s Eve celebration! I pray that the Lord richly blesses you throughout the 365 days He has ordered for us in 2008. May the better part of those days be spent pursuing Him!

Anticipating Him,

Home for Christmas

Someone once said, “Home is where your heart is.” And I have added, “…and when my heart is with Jesus, I am truly home.”

I pray that as you listen to Home for Christmas, you will find hope and encouragement for your soul. I pray you will be home for Christmas. As you enter this Christmas season, I pray God touches you in ways you never thought possible.

The link is on the right side of this page under Listen To: Home for Christmas.

God bless you dear one.

In this broadcast, I share a childhood experience of having anticipated something quite extraordinary only to find out it was a complete hoax. The story made me think about the shepherd’s “hear and see adventure” in Bethlehem. Luke 2:20 says they returned to their fields praising God for all He had revealed to them. Having anticipated seeing the Savior, then having seen Him, they were greatly blessed!

“Whoever believes in Him will not be disappointed” Romans 10:11. Only God can unite what is “heard and seen” in such a way that it results in great praise! When we hear His word and see how it works out in our lives, we join in the centuries-old praise to our God and King!

Glory to God in the Highest!

Merry Whatever Day

We’ve all noticed that Christmas is a far cry from what it used to be. In many ways, it is a far cry from anything Christian. Are we surprised? Shocked? God isn’t…

As Christmas (Jesus) receives lesser and lesser status in our country, I wonder what our response ought to be? The recording, “Merry Whatever Day” offers a few of my thoughts on the topic. I pray you will find it encouraging and full of His good grace.

I pray you have a Blessed Christ-filled Christmas!
