Press in…

Dear Blogger,

Thank you for visiting this little blog spot on the Internet. I pray it’s like a chapel in the middle of your hectic day. I pray He will encourage you to press into His heart. I pray that the fragrance of Jesus Christ will wash over your soul, giving you extreme hope in the face of whatever you are experiencing. Hold fast in faith, dear one! He is worth the wait!

I’m preparing for a women’s retreat and haven’t had time to write or record new devotions. Please come back again soon. Lord willing, I’ll have a fresh recording on Monday. Until then, God speed and remember your true WORTH…Jesus.

Creation tells a story—all of it a true story. Each stroke of His pen upon creation’s parchment holds the great sentences, now deeply embedded in the ancient landscape.

So familiar to our senses, yet not well known, are the stars in this epic adventure of God: gravity and rainbows, light and dawn, wind and grains of wheat, and finitely more. Every chapter reveals eternal truths locked in earthly realities.

The plot thickens as our eyes fall upon the lines written by the Spirit Writer, the Ancient of Days. Indeed, suspense and intrigue hold us captive as we absorb more meaning and truth.

This book is not for skimming through, but for lingering over it as we savor the symbolism He is most famous for. As we read between the lines and absorb the Author’s wisdom, we soon discover we too were written into the story long ago—our hearts, the parchment upon which the Writer sets His pen.

Day by day, He continues to write your story with great intention and design. While He often pauses mid sentence, He is hardly finished with His thought. Wait patiently, dear one.

I pray today’s audio message, Grain of Wheat, quickens your mind for what He has placed in His Word. You will find the audio files under LISTEN TO →

Glory to the Ancient of Days!

Fit To Be Tied

I am perfectly fit. God fit me, and you, to be tied to Him. When we choose Him, we are eternally tied and tethered to Yahweh. Imagine that…

He also created us in such a way that our entire being fits perfectly in the hollow of His hand. That’s perfect fitness! Imagine that…

Beloved, we can rest in Him today. Know that…

During all those years of depression, I lived under a constant cloud of suicide. I wanted to die. I wanted God to take me home. I begged Him. I was more than willing to help Him out by taking my own life, but I wasn’t very successful in my attempts. They were all half-hearted efforts because underneath all the pain was a great desire for life—a life minus all the pain.

I’m not a mental health professional. I’m not an authority on suicide or depression. Nor have I reviewed the latest research on the topic. What I do know is that people are in pain, physical and psychological pain, and they want relief. Relief from heartache, despair, worry, shame, grief, disappointment, guilt…

Our most consistent response to pain is for it to be over. Tragically, every few minutes someone commits suicide to end the pain. There are other options, but when our judgment is clouded, options don’t seem reasonable. That’s why getting help is so important…

Having survived those dark, painful days—days I thought would never end—I can tell you there is a hope beyond the pain! Jesus is that Hope. Those aren’t just words to me, He is my Lifeline. He pulled me out of despair and put joy in my heart. The most amazing treasure God gives us is Himself… Once I chose Him, the cloud began to lift.

The most amazing thing about God is that He never minimizes our pain—He puts it in perspective and transforms it. When I was suicidal, that was the help I needed the most!

Dear one, if you are suicidal, please get help. Tell someone this very hour. Please don’t wait. Tell a friend or family member. Tell a pastor. Call someone! Here are a few numbers you can call for support and encouragement…

1-888-Need Him
National Suicide Prevention Hotline, 1-800-442-4673 (HOPE)

Today’s message reflects on the impact of suicide and the hope we have in Jesus Christ. I pray you find encouragement for your journey. The audio file “Shaken To The Core” is listed under LISTEN TO →

Sometimes all I want to record is a prayer. I just want to talk to Him and invite you, the listener, to join me as we seek His face together. In doing so, I realize it’s the most powerful thing I can put over the airwaves. Prayer is such an incredible gift!

“Heart Cry,” is a prayer for those of you who are struggling. He hears, He cares, He knows, He answers—He hears the cry of your heart!

By the Lamb,
Deb

To think that there are actually people who read owner’s manuals from cover-to-cover is quite impressive to me. I’m not one of them. I don’t spend a lot deal of time reading the owner’s manual when I purchase a new product. Sure, I look at the diagrams and generally glance through the chapters, but my primary goal is to familiarize myself with only what I need to know to make the product run.

There are, however, certain drawbacks to not reading the owner’s manual: when product assembly is required, invariably there are a few leftover parts and pieces. “Hum, I wonder what this part is for?” Shoot, what are a few extra blots, washers, or plastic things, when the product seems to operate just fine?

Forgiveness doesn’t always assemble very well. Oh sure, we understand how important forgiveness is, but there are parts and pieces to forgiveness that just don’t seem to fit. We might even understand the fact that Jesus forgave us, but forgiving others is the part that’s difficult to bolt down. We may even know some dear souls who have thrown that part away.

In reading the Lord’s Owner’s Manual…

“He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him” 2 Corinthians 5:21.

“And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in real knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve the things that are excellent, in order to be sincere and blameless until the day of Christ; having been filled with the fruit of righteousness which comes through Jesus Chris, to the glory and praise of God” Philippians 1:9-11.

If you are the righteousness of God in Christ and you are seated with Him—as a justified and completely washed and forgiven child of God—then who am I to withhold forgiveness from you? To know this spiritually, by faith, is to know forgiveness on a whole new level. As you can see, these two parts fit together perfectly!

The audio file, “Reading the Owner’s Manual,” takes a deeper look at unforgiveness and its impact on our life. I pray you will find encouragement to let it go… The audio link is under LISTEN TO →

When I am anxious, depressed or grief stricken, nothing soothes my heart more than hearing the truth about who God is. When I’m afraid or overwhelmed, the counsel of His word calms each runaway thought. Upon hearing reminders of just how much He loves me, all doubt ceases. Why? Because all I need to know is who He is…

In 1995, I was diagnosed with having Multiple Sclerosis. While the diagnosis was later questioned, I was still afraid and deeply concerned about my future. My father died with complications from MS and I saw firsthand the suffering he endured. To know I was facing a similar future frightened me so much.

My future looked ominous and a great foreboding surrounded me. Doctors assured me of their support and my friends provided great comfort, but all I wanted and needed to know was that my Father was holding my life. The whole experience was a huge turning point in my faith-journey with Jesus, because I came to realize how much my heart longs for Him, just Him. In seeking after Him, I found Him faithful and true and oh, so real!!!

He is your Lord and Savior. He is your Hope. He is your Rock. He is your Life. He is your Comforter. He is your Shield. He is your Strong Tower. He is your All in all. He is…

“For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor power, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” Romans 8:38-39.

No matter what you are facing today, He is… I pray today’s recording, “He Is…” blesses your heart with the knowledge of how vast and wide His love is for you. I pray you find comfort in the reality of who He is.
