In order for us to walk peacefully in uncertainty and difficulty, we must know that the things of this world are a mere vapor compared to the substance that exists just beyond our sight. That’s what Paul is getting at in 2 Corinthians 4:16-18, “Therefore, we do not lose heart, but though our outer man is decaying, yet our inner man is being renewed day by day. For momentary light affliction is producing in us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison, while we look not to the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.”
So, beloved of God, regardless of what happens today with the stock market, with your job, or with any aspect of your life, LOOK at what you can’t see in the eternal realm. How do we do that? By faith, believing God’s word in all respects. Telling ourselves, and each other, the truth! Aslan is near! The Lion of Judah sits upon His Throne, confident and victorious over all things…
I pray you find comfort for your soul as you listen to today’s recording: Mountains in the Drink
Now “the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with you all” 2 Corinthians 13:14

I think we all need a reality check after hearing today’s Dow Jones news. Here’s the truth: God is in control! God is in CONTROL! If tomorrow is a carbon copy of today, or worse, God is still in control. Millions of people will question that fact, but God is in control!
Hold fast to your faith in Him. He is working out His purposes! Hold fast, dear one, hold fast! CNN, MSN, NBC, CBS, ABC have just an itsy-bitsy sliver of truth. The rest is out of their sight! That’s why we are encouraged in 2 Corinthians 5:7 to “…walk by faith not by sight…”
Our God reigns! “…though the mountains fall into the ocean deep…” (Psalm 46), our God is in control! He is holy, holy, holy… The Lord God Almighty is worthy of our praise!

It’s been a few weeks since I blogged. I’ve missed sharing my discoveries and musings with you… I really miss writing and recording. Soon…
Right now I’m on a study and prayer retreat in the beautiful mountains of Idaho. I’m getting ready for three more autumn retreats and I’m so excited about what the Lord is showing me. WOW!
I just had to drop you a quick note to remind you that as a Christian, Jesus Christ is alive in you! Not only is He alive in you, He really wants to live His life through you! I know it doesn’t seem possible does it? But that’s how the Christian life is supposed to be. That’s how He intends us to live: His life lived through us.
Somewhere we lost the focal point of Christ as our life and we started doing a religious version of Christianity. Christianity void of Christ is really stale and lifeless though, but we give it our “best” shot. We focus on our behavior a lot and perform certain activities—pointing to those things as the whole of Christianity. But, it’s like pointing to a shadow and saying the shadow is real thing. It’s just a shadow and no wonder it’s fading for so many saints…
There are many Christians who are exhausted and burdened and bound. Looking for the next book to read or conference to attend to inspire them to greater activity—hoping to obtain spiritual competence so they won’t feel so defeated; so they can better manage their flesh. I know… Just a few months ago I was there!!!
I just wonder if the Lord Jesus isn’t using all our failed attempts to live the Christian life to de-motivate us to live the Christian life, SO we will finally turn to Him and say, “Lord, will you do it, I’m finished! I can’t be like you without you.” And the heavens quake with applause! “Finally! Finally!!!” And what glorious words to His ears! And when we finally come to that place, the REAL adventures begin!!!
I can’t even put into words the journey that has unfolded since I prayed that prayer of surrender! My moments of self-sufficiency and striving seem so ridiculous. The discovery isn’t shameful, it’s joyful because I realize turning to Him is just a breath away. WOW! Beyond WOW!
Glory to God! Incidentally, that’s just exactly how He gets all the glory—when He gets to live His live through us. 2 Corinthians 4:7!
