Something amazing is happening right now… (Well, in God’s realm, something amazing is ALWAYS happening, we just don’t always see it)  I’m not talking about the election, I’m referring to a great stirring of the Holy Spirit.  I couldn’t sleep last night.  I’ve been falling asleep praying and waking up the next morning with the same prayer in my mouth, as if I prayed all night long.  Are you sensing it too?

The Lord gave me this word, A Holy Hush, early this morning.  I pray He uses it for His glory…..

Wow!  Are you all sensing the same thing I am?  There is such a deep sense of His movement among the saints!  I’ve never sensed greater excitement and eager anticipation.  And I’m not talking about the election, I’m talking about the presence of the Living Lord…  I’ve been awake writing since 3:30 AM.  I am blown away by Him, absolutely blown away by His grace, His love, His power and His tender mercy.  I’m also deeply convicted by my wayward flesh that seeks the things of this world to satisfy my heart.  It’s a stubborn drive isn’t it?  And without condemnation, our Faithful Shepherd woes us back.  Time and again, He extends the crook of His staff to untangle us from the gnarly cliffs of self-endeavor.  What grace!  What amazing grace!

Go Lord Jesus, go…  Go is us, and O may we go in You today!

I pray these recent recordings encourage you… God speed!

Would you please pray for Holly?  She is undergoing radiation treatment to reduce the size of the tumors in her abdomen.  The doctors are positive about the treatment.  As you might guess…  Holly Faith Walker (Johnson) is in stride with the Living Lord!  Her hope is in Him, and she was full of expectant joy when I spoke with her tonight.

Her only prayer request: That she will boldly proclaim Jesus Christ in His glorious power!

He has definitely given Holly sight beyond this life, and her cancer.  Blessed be the Name of the Lord!  Great is His faithfulness!

The earth is dying.  I don’t mean to sound grim but according to scientist are days are numbered.  One account gives the earth approximately 7.6 billion years before the sun vaporizes our planet.  Unless we can change the earth’s orbit, we are doomed!  Not to worry, they have a plan!

A lot of people are promoting “their” plan right now…  We’ll vote on November 4 to endorse one candidate’s plan or another.  Although I am ready and eager to cast my vote, I do not cast my hope in the direction of man or woman.  Oh, I hope and pray for God’s intervention and that he’ll move through our country’s leadership, but my hope is grounded in Him, not man.  This world is far too shaky for any one person or team to achieve what needs to be accomplished.  Unless we can change our orbit and fasten our hope in God, we are doomed.  Wow.  That probably sounds far too dismal and hopeless… But not.  God has made a way through His Son, Jesus Christ.

“And He is the image of the invisible God, the first born of all creation.  For in Him all things were created, both in heaven and on the earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him.  And He is above all things, and in Him all things are held together” Colossians 1:15-17.

In Him I place my hope!  That’s Reassuring News!  I pray He blesses you through today’s recording.

Dear one, stay tuned to Him through His word…

Okay, by a show of hands how many of you are wondering how you are going to make ends meet? I mean you are hanging by a thread, bills are piling up and there’s not enough money to go around? From where you stand, without God’s intervention, it looks like financial ruin?  Are you there?  You are not alone! As a matter of fact, there are many others who in the same boat.

Do not despair!!! Wait upon the Lord! Even without physical evidence, wait upon the Lord!

When I look back over those years of financially security—automatic deposits, 401k allocations, medical insurance—I was hardly aware of God’s provision. As a matter of fact, I didn’t see my fat check as God’s provision at all, I saw it as a direct result of the work I performed and justifiably got paid for. I EARNED it! Intellectually I understood my job was God’s provision, but essentially, I believed I was the source of my income.

Humble pie is often served one slice at a time…

Then the Lord “invited” me to begin a ministry called Grace Tapestries… I thought the money would roll in! I imagined financial independence, not wealth, just adequate security. [Deb is laughing]. Really, I had it all figured out for God! I thought it was pretty neat that I had it figured out for Him… Gosh, what a team!

Sixteen months later. The one certainty I am certain of is that God is my Provision. Every gimmick (manipulation), every effort to “work-it-out” on my own, all the panic over whether I’ll make the mortgage payment or pay my bills, can be summed up in a few words: God as my Provider. I had lost sight of that…or actually, I never knew that before! I liked the sound of it. I enjoyed reading about saints, like George Mueller, who depended upon God for their next meal, but I was tooooooo far removed from that ever happening in my life. Not anymore. I’m there.  And I will probably get closer to there than the there I am currently experiencing!  WOW God!

With utmost confidence, I depend upon God to provide for my every need. He may well allow me to go down to my last penny before He answers. He may allow me lose a few significant possessions before I see His provision, but He will provide. Perhaps not what I expected, but the basics, the essentials He will cover.

God is redefining my definition of what’s essential.

And the more I walk this road with the Lord God Jehovah, the closer I am to the ground; the closer I am to the soil of His provision. The soil was always there before, I just didn’t realize WHO was behind every blessing that spouted up out that soil. And when there is no human resource between you and having a bill paid, your eyes are wide-open to God’s amazing presence! From that place, we are drawn deeper and deeper into full-faced worship!  How glorious is our God!!!

So dear one, grip the Truth! Surrender your life to God. Lay down your expectations of what you thought your life would look like and give Him all your reserves, including all your reservations. Lean in to the One and only One who is the Source of your life!

From a fellow sojourner of the King.

Having spent over ten years doing talk therapy, in and out of psychiatric hospitals and pursuing everything self-help, I can speak with some degree of confidence about the pitfalls therein.  Namely, depending on our emotions to determine our reality.

Let me give you an example…  I used to shrink in full-fledged insecurity when I was asked to do something outside my comfort zone.  My emotions were so intense I would finally render a “No, I can’t do it!”  I would then wallow in self-pity and shame for giving into my emotions and forfeiting a great opportunity of some sort.  Well, you can see the predicament I created for myself: insecurity kept me bound to shame, shame kept me bound to insecurity.

As you might guess, it wasn’t self-help that pulled me out of that mess.  It was the power of the Holy Spirit that transformed me!  I cannot begin to tell you how incredible it is to stand on this side of those devastating years.  My heart is full of praise!

Now and then though, a few stray emotions want to dominate my thinking.  Based upon God’s word I take my stand!  I’ll often say two simple words to myself “Stop it, Deb!”  It’s like saying, “Stand firm in your faith!”

“Be of sober spirit, be on the alert.  Your adversary, the devil, prowls about like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.  But resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being accomplished by your brethren who are in the world.  And after you have suffered a little, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish you” 1 Peter 5:8-10.

My parents grew up during the Great Depression.  And while my father is no longer living, I’ve heard many stories lately of how my mother and her parents survived those days.  The constant thread through each story is how they went without in order to live within their means.  Do we have any idea how far off we are from living that way today? How often do we live without?  Not very often.  In fact, we have plenty of credit so we can get whatever we want!

Credit is an illusion, a false provision that causes us to counterfeit an income and lifestyle that God has not authorized.

So, I’ve been thinking…  What does it mean to live within God’s means?  Because if God is in control, and He gives us exactly what we need, then why are we struggling to make ends meet?  Are we living beyond His means?

Today’s message, Living Within His Means, are a few more thoughts on this topic.  I pray He encourages you with the truth!
