Enoch Walked With God

Have you ever considered those words in Genesis 5:24, “Enoch Walked With God“? (click link to listen to the recording)

We too get to walk with our Lord Jesus Christ, no matter where He leads…  We know this amazing reality by faith!  Not only that, He walks with us, because He indwells us.

Walk on with Him, dear one!  He is so close!

Prayers of the Saints

My nephew’s condition is improving.  He’s still in ICU, but things are looking up.  His parents will land within the hour and that will be a great blessing to him.  And the prayers of the saints are going up heavenward to a gracious God!

I just spoke to the nurse and she said, “He’s a wonderful young man and has such a positive outlook on life.”  Mark loves Jesus.  Jesus is his Lord.  He has a foundation based on the true knowledge of God … so he is experiencing the deep peace of God.  I am so grateful to God for Mark and for my family. Shalom, shalom…

God speed, dear one!

Praying for Mark

My nephew, Mark, is in a hospital in Hawaii with a serious form of pneumonia.  He’s young and strong, but he is seriously ill.  His dad and mom are being called to his bedside and will leaving tomorrow morning.

His family is far away from him right now, but already the family of God is being rallied to his side.  Three Hawaiian believers are in route to lay hands on him and pray.  A Hawaiian pastor will come later.  And more Hawaiian believers are interceding for Mark.  We on the homeland are praying from a distance … all of us are praying fervently before God’s throne.  We are all there together lifting up this precious young man who loves the Lord with all his heart.

Jesus is with Mark.  Mark is with Jesus.  We are trusting the Lord for His healing touch.  Amen.

God loves faith; He loves us to walk by faith and He is greatly blessed when we believe in Him no matter what.  What a joy it is to walk by faith in God our Father.  O He is so good, so faithful, so true!

I was reading in Streams in the Desert and happened upon an EM Winter poem (click link to listen) that reminded me of the sweet privilege it is to walk by faith, which then led to Hebrews 11:6.

Do you know God eagerly desires you to believe in Him right this very moment?  Isn’t that amazing?  He really longs for you to take Him seriously, joyfully.  Let’s walk by faith on His True Word.  O I pray He surprises you today!

Believing God

Abraham and Sarah waited 25 years for the birth of Issac.  Even though God gave them assurances along the way, they doubted His ability to perform what He promised.  God’s promise seemed too impossible to them.  And since God didn’t come through right away, they accomplished some variation of the promise themselves, i.e., Ishmael.

Well, not too much has changed in terms of how we approach the promises of God.  We’re still trying to work the plan ourselves.  Sometimes believing in God contradicts reality.  Go for it!

“And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him” Hebrews 11:6 (NASB).

All morning long I have been thinking about Galatians 2:20, “I have been crucified with Christ and it is no long I who live but Christ who dwells in me, and the life that I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in (or by the faith of) the Son of God who loved me and gave Himself up for me.”

We cannot escape those words.  We can’t wiggle out of the truth embedded in the words, “…it is no longer I who live…”  Those words leap off the page.  They beg us to consider the meaning of this truth.

Could Paul have meant something else other than he’s no longer living?  Did he really mean he’s no longer calling the shots in his life?  Did he mean that the transformation was so radical that he’s not the same person he was when he first encountered Christ on the road to Damascus?  What did he mean?

Let’s go deeper.  Let’s plunge into the deep with God.  Let’s ask the Lord to show us what Paul meant.  Let’s ask Christ to show us what it means to have Him live His life through us.  Let’s ask God to give us a revelation of the cross and the Indwelling Life of Christ.  Assuming He will give us another day to live, let’s let Him live the life He longs to live in us, through us.

Because if Christ living through us is our new normal for this life, then we need to wake up to the call.  And well, this is the cry of my heart today for my own life.

Take us deep, Lord, deeper still!

“…with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your mind” Matthew 22:37. In other words, throw your whole self into loving God.  He’s so worthy.
