Holy Forgetfulness

Love… “does not take into account a wrong suffered…” I Corinthians 13:5.

After years of bitterness and scorn, I see her face softening. She is clothed with humility and brokenness; the brokenness that comes from seeing the depth of God’s love and grace.  The old stories that kept the bitter memories alive are now accented with joy … there is no need to extract the painful memories to feed her soul’s snare, instead there is a new mercy gripping her heart.  I am witnessing a healing miracle that comes from the Lord’s merciful hand.  God be praised!

Returning to God

Amos’ words to the sons of Israel in chapter 4…

vs 6 “‘…yet you have not returned to Me,’ declares the Lord.”

vs 8 “‘…yet you have not returned to Me,’ declares the Lord.”

vs 9 “‘…yet you have not returned to Me,’ declares the Lord.”

vs 10 “‘…yet you have not returned to Me,’ declares the Lord.”

vs 11 “‘…yet you have not returned to Me,’ declares the Lord.”

Just poetry? Emphasis. It was a critical warning from an unwavering prophet under God’s influence.  A nation returns to God when her people turn to God.  Turning… Keep turning.  Don’t stop. Keep turning to God in prayer.  Jesus reigns eternally.

Psalm 46:10

“Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!” Psalm 46:10

That’s truth.  We are secure, held fast by His love. May the Church rise to the occasion today in His grace and love.  Our eyes fixed on Jesus! Glory hallelujah!  Praise our Sovereign God.

No Matter What

No matter what the outcome of the elections, keep trusting in God.

No matter what news you receive from the doctor, keep trusting in God.

No matter what your bank account looks like, keep trusting in God.

No matter what unexpected things come your way, keep trusting and waiting and seeking God.  Why?

He is Lord. He is all knowing. He is all seeing. He is good. He is faithful.  He is worthy of all praise. He is our strong tower.  He is the God of all comfort. He works out His good purposes without ever being hindered by anyone or anything. There is not a moment when God is not in control. Nothing slips His notice … everything that is happening in the world right now, including what is being done in secret, is fully known by God. He is sovereign.

That’s the finite list from me, but I’m so grateful for the truth I know.  I also know God is love. That blows my mind. He loves us. Amazing grace.  His tender mercies and lovingkindness are new today toward you, beloved.  God loves you so much!  You can trust Him.

“Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and unfathomable His ways!” Romans 11:33  Glory to God!
