This blog is all about proclaiming the Living Lord Jesus Christ. It started out that way and by God’s grace it will finish that way. It’s as if God has handed me a guitar that only has one string on it. That string is “…Christ in you, the hope of glory” Colossians 1:27. It’s the Gospel message of “Christ and Him crucified.” It’s the message that the church has largely forsaken. Because we strayed from the Gospel, and the very heart of God, scores of people have left the church in search of other religions and humanistic pursuits. In response to this exodus, some are suggesting we need to repaint Christianity in order to be relevant to our postmodern world. Is that the answer? Or do we simply need to return to the foundation of our faith, the reality of the Indwelling Life of Christ. The One who is always relevant!
One of the great Bible teachers of our time, Ray Stedman, once wrote, “Remember we have said before that this is the essential difference between the first century church and the twentieth century church? The latter is so busy trying to show the world how much we can do for Christ. The first century church was quite content to demonstrate to the world how much he could do through them. What a vast difference between the two.” (emphasis mine)
By the power of God we are spreading the Word: Jesus is STILL alive! And second to that word: We aught to live like it, by the power and strength of the Living Lord, Who lives in us, through us, as us, all for His glory and honor.
In Christ alone,

Hi Deb,
That “one string guitar” plays a wonderful tune.
It is such an encouragement to find others who understand that it is Christ in you!
You are in our prayers.
